SALT LAKE CITY, March 29, 2021—This week, Amelia Wilcox, CEO and Founder of Nivati, appeared on KSL TV, a Salt Lake City news network, to discuss Nivati’s massive and successful pivot from in-person massage to virtual mental health services.

During the interview, Amelia discussed the opportunity she saw in the mental health services sphere, and how Nivati is helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing.

The onset of COVID hit the massage business hard, leading to a 98% revenue reduction for Nivati (formerly Incorporate Massage).

Amelia and the Nivati team realized that while the vaccine will help people protect their physical health, it will continue to be an uphill battle to address mental health issues caused by isolation, stress, fear, and other factors.

“I also knew we’d already spent a decade building a system where we could manage licensing by state, and all the tools that we used for the massage business could easily be applied in this new model providing mental health care,” stated Amelia. “And so that’s what we did. We pivoted, and now we offer teletherapy services to employees and their employers pay for it.”

In addition to onsite massage services, Nivati also provides 100+ prerecorded wellbeing videos – from yoga to meditation to fitness to life coaching – for employees around the country.

“I think what COVID has done is opened up people’s eyes to having mental health issues is normal. I think we’re starting to see the beginning of the destigmatization around mental health. So, I feel like we have a very secure future in that space. But if the world goes back to the way it was pre-COVID, we’ve got the onsite service side of the business as well and we can start building that out.”

Nivati continues to grow its virtual platform by onboarding international practitioners and creating gamification features to help employees stay on track with their mental health.
