You can chose to provide the services for free to your employees, have them pay for their treatments, or split the cost with them in someway.

If you choose to run the spa on your own, you’ll need dedicated staff members to focus on the project. It can’t be someone’s side project — it’s a full time job. This is often why many businesses choose to just hire an outside company to manage it.

3 Things You Need for a Corporate Spa

1. Space

You’ll need a dedicated space for your corporate spa, with at least one private room and a reception area.

The types of services provided at the spa will determine what the layout should look like:

  • If there will be body wraps or scrubs, there should be a private shower for employees to use after the session.
  • If there is hair styling, manicures and pedicures, there will need to be sinks and proper ventilation in each room.
  • Massage therapy services will require a place for therapists to wash their hands before and after treatment.
  • And because of an abundance of sheets and towels being used, there should be adequate laundry facilities.


2. Someone to Run It

Whether it’s an employee of your business, or an outside company, you’ll need someone to be in charge of your corporate spa.

The Spa Director will make decisions about decorations, room layout, staffing, hours, prices, schedules, cleaning/laundry, supplies, and everything else associated with running a spa.


3. People to Staff It

These are the massage therapists, nail technicians, hair stylists, spa attendants, and receptionists that make the spa happen.

Again, these might be people signed on as staff members of your own company, or they could be employees or contractors of your corporate spa management company.
